Today, Jazan Health announced the success of a medical team at the Eye Center at Prince Muhammad bin Nasser Hospital, in ending the suffering of a patient in his forties from a severe rise in intraocular pressure, after performing the first “Ahmed” valve implant operation in Jazan that was successful, praise be to God.

The emergency department explained that the hospital received a 48-year-old patient, who was suffering from a severe rise in left eye pressure, and after conducting the necessary medical tests by the medical team, it was found that he suffers from glaucoma as a result of diabetic retinopathy, which He was called to be admitted to the hypnosis department and be prepared for the operation.

And Jazan Health indicated that the “blue water” glaucoma surgery team performed a first-of-its-kind surgery for the patient, as the “Ahmed” valve was implanted to relieve pressure in the left eye, which was successful. thanks to God.

It is worth noting that this operation was conducted at the Eye Center at Prince Muhammad Bin Nasser Hospital for the first time, as part of Jazan Health’s efforts towards expanding the provision of various specialized treatment services, including those of the Eye Center, which contributed to the decrease in the percentage of referrals outside the Jazan region during this year to 59 %.
